Troubleshooting

Shared Channel Option Is Missing

External User Cannot Access the Channel

Cannot Add External Participants

Shared channels are different from standard private channels. External participants in a shared channel can chat, meet, and collaborate on files without being added as guest users to your tenant.
Files shared in a shared channel remain governed by the sensitivity labels and retention policies of the organisation that owns the channel. Avoid placing highly sensitive data in shared channels unless both organisations have agreed on information handling requirements.
