  1. Log into your router's admin panel (typically 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) using a wired connection.
  2. Run a Wi-Fi analyser to identify the least congested channel in your area.
  3. Switch your router to a non-overlapping channel (1, 6, or 11 for 2.4 GHz).
  4. Reduce channel bandwidth from 40 MHz to 20 MHz on the 2.4 GHz band.
  5. Separate your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks with distinct SSIDs.
  6. Reposition your router away from shared walls and external-facing windows.
  7. Save settings and reboot the router.

On macOS Sonoma or later, open Wireless Diagnostics from Applications > Utilities, then click Window > Scan to view nearby networks and their channel usage.

  2. Rename the 2.4 GHz network (for example, YourBiz-2.4G).

  4. Save and reconnect your devices.
